Welcome to Alta Societá! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, “altasocieta.co.za” and any purchases made through it. By accessing or using our website, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. General Information

1.1. Alta Societá is a South African-based business that sells handmade leather goods.
1.2. These Terms apply to all users of our website, including customers, browsers, vendors, and merchants.
1.3. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Orders & Payments

2.1. All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of payment.
2.2. Prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT, if applicable.
2.3. We accept payments via EFT, PayFast, Peach Payments and Yoco. Payment must be received before an order is processed.
2.4. We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion.

3. Shipping & Delivery

3.1. We offer shipping within South Africa and may offer international shipping on request.
3.2. Estimated delivery times will be provided but are not guaranteed. Delays due to courier services, customs, or unforeseen circumstances are beyond our control.
3.3. Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. We are not liable for lost or delayed deliveries due to incorrect addresses.
3.4. Risk of loss passes to the customer upon handover to the courier.

4. Returns & Refunds

4.1. We accept returns for defective or incorrect products within 5 days of delivery, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.

4.3. Products must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
4.4. Refunds will be processed once the returned item is inspected and approved. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to reflect, depending on your payment provider.
4.5. Custom or personalized items are non-refundable unless defective due to a manufacturing fault.

5. Warranties & Liability

5.1. We take pride in our craftsmanship and provide a 6-month warranty on manufacturing defects. This does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage.
5.2. Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the product. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1. All content on this website, including images, text, and designs, are the property of Alta Societá , it’s subdivisions, subsidiaries, group partners or it’s owners and is protected under South African copyright and trademark laws.
6.2. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without our explicit prior written permission.

7. Privacy & Data Protection

7.1. We collect and process personal data in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
7.2. Your personal information is used solely for order fulfilment, customer service and marketing. We do not sell or share your data with third parties without consent.

8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

8.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
8.2. Any disputes will first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the relevant courts in South Africa.
